Stanley Safari
Lodge is an excellent starting point for your safari in
Southern Africa.
We are eager to assist you with your safari in Zambia,
Botswana or Namibia.
To benefit to a maximum extent from your trip to Southern
Africa,
we recommend to prepare your journey well in advance.
We suggest to take the following items:

- 2-3
sets of cotton, neutral colored safari clothes
- 2 sets of casual evening clothes (long sleeves)
- 1 light windbreaker or bodywarmer (chilly early morning
drives) and 1 warm jersey in winter (June/July)
- Good walking shoes and sandals (Falls).
- Insurance: Medical and Full comprehensive travel insurance is recommended which includes full trip cancellation cover. We do need to charge cancellation fees according to the policies stated.
- Medical: Anti-malaria tablets and tetanus & hepatitus vaccination recommended (consult your doctor or pharmacist).
- Sun hat & sun glasses, sun-lotion, insect-repellent, basic medical kit, torch
- Binoculars, camera, spare battery & plenty of memory cards. If you wear contact lenses, we recommend spare glasses.
- USD is widely accepted. VISA/Mastercard and Travellers Cheques often carry a 5% surcharge. Airport tax (USD 25) and possible visa fees are payable in cash USD. Passport valid for at least 6 months

Remember,
if you travel by light aircraft, lugage must be packed in
soft bags and mustn't exceed 12 kg / person.
Light aircrafts are used for air transfers from Stanley
Safari Lodge to Kafue NP, Okavango Delta, Etosha,
Sossusvlei, Lower Zambezi NP, South Luangwa, etc. |
Visa / Airport:
Visa's are required for most nationalities. Southern African nationalities are exempt.
If you fly out of Zambia, please note that an Airport departure tax exists (at time of writing: USD 25 pp for international departures, USD 8 for national departures).
General:
Electricity: 240 Volts UK plugs (square 3 pin)
Meals: set lunch & evening meals (special diets available)
Drinks: local drinks (soft, beer, housewine and Gin & Tonic) included.
Communications: Phone available at reception. Cell phone coverage available according to the European GSM standard.
Rooms have no TV, telephone, minibar or internet
Laundry: yes
Water: private borehole water (regularly tested). Also bottled water is available.
Tipping is entirely at guest's discretion.
Transport: private transport needs to be arranged prior to arrival. Although we endeavour to arrange transfers and activities as private as possible, we can not guarantee entirely private transfers, unless arranged prior to arrival.
Weather:
- May-Jul: sunny and dry winter with cool nights and mornings and warm afternoons. water levels: average
- Aug-Oct: sunny and dry, warm (very hot in October). water levels: very low
- Nov-Apr: rainy season, warm to hot. Generally Jan/Feb have the biggest rains. water levels: peak in April.
